Earth Energy For Home Review

As electricity prices continue to rise, along with oil and gas prices, interest in home power systems naturally increases. Since most of these take the form of renewable energy (solar, wind, and biofuel), the goals of saving money and achieving energy independence are joined by environmentalism.

By installing a home solar or wind energy system, you can reduce or even eliminate your electric bill, achieve a measure of independence from the electric utilities, and do your part to help save the earth.

There are numerous guides, manuals, and how-to books on setting up home energy systems that are becoming more and more popular. One reason for this is that
having a solar or wind system commercially installed can cost a lot of money up front -- tens of thousands of dollars, in fact.

The savings on your electric bill can take a long time to realize that way. Hence the interest in saving money on the up-front cost as well by performing the labor yourself.

Earth Energy For Home Ebook

Earth Energy For Home is advertised as a guide to both solar and wind power that tells you how to build your own solar panels or wind generators for home use and install them into your power system.

EXPOSED

Earth Energy For Home Review

The guide sells for $49.97 (a few pennies under $50 seems to be the going rate for guides on do-it-yourself solar and/or wind power). It offers a promise that you will be able to create your own solar or wind system for under $200, and to save thousands of dollars over time on your electric bills. It's offered in ebook format, so that upon making the purchase you can download it immediately to your computer without waiting for shipment or paying shipping costs.

Earth Energy For Home Website

The website is located at www.earthenergyforhome.com. It presents a brief overview of the product plus links to more detailed video presentations about solar and wind (one each). The solar power video begins with the owner of the company and author of the ebook telling the story of how he got laid off from his job and got some temporary work from a friend installing solar panels.

As he needed to cut costs from his own household budget, he thought about installing a solar system at home, but was dismayed at the cost of a fully-installed system. That turned his thinking towards a DIY approach. The video goes into quite a lot of detail on the story and suffices to show that the author does know something about it.

The video on wind power goes through the same story, and for that reason
is a little less convincing. However, it's clear enough that the author is a bright guy with an engineering background and some personal experience in home electricity systems.

The advertisement for the guide presents one
slightly misleading, although technically true, claim. It seems to imply that a home energy system can be built and installed for under $200. Technically, that's correct. Counting all of the parts for an on-grid supplemental solar system with one solar panel putting out a few watts of power, the price could be under $200.

However, if you want to save very much on your utility bill, it's going to cost more than that because you will need multiple solar panels. Even so, the cost will be a fraction of what you would pay a company to install such a system ready-made.

On the whole, this looks like a reasonably good guide to making and installing a green home power system. You should not underestimate the work involved in doing this, but
if you don't mind a little technical learning and putting in some hours constructing power sources and hooking them up to your home wiring, it can save you a great deal of money over either continuing to pay high electric bills or having a solar power company install a system for you.
